Team Leader – OTC Cash Applications
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Team Leader to spearhead our OTC Cash Applications function. This leadership role goes beyond transactional processing — you will own team performance, drive process excellence, and serve as the key escalation point for complex payment reconciliation challenges. You will lead a team of cash application specialists, ensuring accuracy, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement across all AR touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cash application analysts. Set daily/weekly targets, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of ownership and accuracy. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or aged items.
- Oversee end-to-end application of customer payments received via Wire, ACH, Cheque, Lockbox, Credit Card, and other payment modes. Ensure all transactions are posted accurately and within agreed SLA timelines.
- Drive timely resolution of unapplied, unidentified, and short-paid receipts. Coordinate with customers, the collections team,



and internal stakeholders to transparent outstanding items and reduce unapplied cash ageing.
- Ensure accuracy of AR subledger through regular customer account reconciliations. Prepare and review cash application reports, dashboards, and audit-ready documentation.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities related to Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure full adherence to SOX controls, internal audit requirements, and company accounting policies. Proactively identify control gaps and implement corrective measures.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the cash application team. Identify manual bottlenecks, partner with technology teams on automation opportunities, and document standardised operating procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 7–9 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Cash Appli
