About the Role
The Medical Superintendent will oversee the clinical operations of the hospital, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while managing resources effectively.
Role & responsibilities :
Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance --
Clinical Oversight: Supervising all medical and clinical departments to ensure high standards of patient care and treatment. Quality Standard Maintenance: Ensuring compliance with national and international healthcare accreditation standards (such as NABH, JCI, or ISO). Policy Formulation: Developing, implementing, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical protocols for the hospital. Patient Safety & Risk Management: Leading committees dedicated to minimizing medical errors, managing clinical risks, and investigating sentinel events. Administrative and Operations Leadership --
Hospital Administration: Managing the day-to-day administrative functions of the medical division to ensure smooth patient workflows. Resource Allocation: Coordinating the distribution of clinical resources,



including medical equipment, ICU beds, and operating theater schedules. Inter-Departmental Coordination: Facilitating seamless communication and workflows between clinical units (e.g., radiology, pathology) and non-clinical units (e.g., billing, maintenance). Disaster & Emergency Planning: Designing and executing the hospital's emergency preparedness and disaster management protocols. Workforce & Personnel Management --
Medical Staff Recruitment: Participating in the interviewing, hiring, and credentialing of doctors, consultants, and senior clinical staff. Performance Evaluation: Conducting regular performance reviews and clinical audits of medical practitioners to ensure competency. Duty Rota Management: Overseeing the scheduling and duty rosters of resident doctors, specialists, and consultants to ensure 24/7 coverage.
