Position Overview
The Nirma University invites applications from distinguished leaders in sports education and administration for the position of Director – Sports & Physical Education.
The Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development, commissioning, and long-term management of a recent ongoing development of Olympic-standard sports infrastructure on campus. The role extends beyond facilities to building a vibrant sports ecosystem that integrates high-performance training, physical education, wellness, and student life—contributing to the holistic development of students.
This is a foundational leadership role, responsible for shaping the university's long-term vision in sports, fitness, and human performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Vision
· Develop and implement a comprehensive sports and physical education vision aligned with the university's academic philosophy and national/global best practices.




· Position the university as a center of excellence in sports education, training, and competition, with pathways from grassroots to elite levels.
· Advise the University leadership on policy, long-term infrastructure development, and investment strategies for sports programs.
2. Sports Infrastructure Development (Olympic-Standard)
· Lead and guide the development, and commissioning of campus-wide sports facilities meeting Olympic and international standards.
· Work closely with design/engineering team (architects, engineers, consultants, and project teams) to ensure facilities are technically sound, state of the art equipment ready, athlete-centric, safe, and future-ready.
· Ensure infrastructure supports:
-High-performance training
-University-level, national level competitions
-Recreational and wellness activities
-Multi-sport and inclusive participation
· Establish operational frameworks, SOPs, and maintenance pro
