Collection Head – Receivables & Customer Reconciliation | Cargo & Transport
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Collection Head to lead customer receivables and collection activities from our Nashik Head Office.
The candidate will be responsible for overdue collection tracking, customer payment cycle monitoring, ledger reconciliation, customer query/dispute resolution, on-account payment follow-up, unidentified payment resolution and damage/missing claim settlement coordination.
The role requires robust coordination with customers, branches, Operations, Billing and Finance teams to ensure timely collection and closure of outstanding issues.
Key Responsibilities
Manage customer-wise and branch-wise receivables and overdue collections.
Track payment cycles and ensure collections within agreed credit terms.
Drive follow-up of overdue invoices and obtain firm payment commitments.
Reconcile customer ledgers and resolve differences.
Handle customer queries relating to invoices, POD, rates, GST, TDS, short payments and credit notes.
Coordinate resolution of damage/missing shipment claims.
Follow up on on-account and unidentified payments and ensure timely adjustment.
Prepare ageing and collection MIS.
Monitor >30,
>60 and >90 days outstanding.
Coordinate with branches, Billing, Operations, Accounts and customers.
Escalate high-value, high-risk and long-pending outstanding to management.
Track collection commitments and ensure closure.
Drive reduction in overdue receivables and improve collection cycle.
Candidate Profile:-
7–9 years of experience in Receivables / Collection / Credit Control.
Experience in Logistics / Transport / Cargo / Freight / Supply Chain preferred.
Strong customer handling and negotiation skills.
Excellent knowledge of ledger reconciliation and ageing.
Strong Excel and Tally ERP skills.
Good accounting understanding, including TDS deductions.
Strong follow-up, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Candidates who have handled large customer portfolios and branch-wise collections will be preferred.
