Job SummaryWe are looking for a Jr. Design Engineer for our CNC & VMC Department with knowledge of CAD & CAM software, CNC/VMC machining, 2D/3D modelling, toolpath generation and CNC programming. The candidate will be responsible for preparing component drawings, developing machining processes, generating CAM programs and coordinating with Production, QC and CNC/VMC Operators.

- Key Responsibilities Prepare and modify 2D & 3D component drawings as per customer requirements.
- Create and maintain drawings/models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX software.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T;.
- Study component drawings and determine suitable CNC/VMC machining processes.
- Prepare machining process plans and operation sequences.
- Generate CNC/VMC toolpaths using CAM software.
- Select suitable cutting tools, tool holders, feeds and speeds as per machining requirements.
- Create and modify CNC programs for VMC/CNC machines.
- Perform CAM toolpath simulation and verification before releasing programs to production.
- Check toolpath for collision, over-cutting, under-cutting and machining errors.
- Generate and manage NC/G-code programs as required.
- Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators during program trials and production.
- Make necessary modifications in programs based on machining results.
- Support in fixture, jig and tooling design.
- Coordinate with Production, QC and Tool Room for machining and design-related issues.
- Make design modifications based on production and quality requirements.
- Prepare BOM, drawing revisions, setup sheets and technical documents.
- Maintain proper drawing,



CAM file and CNC program revision control.
- Support in reducing cycle time, rejection, rework and tool consumption.
- Assist in new product development and process improvement.
- Visit the shop floor to understand machining problems and provide technical solutions.
- Ensure drawings, CAM programs and machining processes comply with customer/company requirements.

CAD Software Knowledge Candidate should have working knowledge of one or more of the following:

- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- Siemens NX
- 2D drafting and detailing
- 3D part modelling
- Assembly modelling
- Engineering drawing preparation
- GD&T; and tolerance understanding

CAM Software Knowledge Candidate should have knowledge of CAM software used for CNC/VMC programming and toolpath generation.

- Preferred CAM Software Siemens NX CAM
- Solid CAM

Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

- Desired Candidate Profile Fresher or 3 years of relevant experience in CNC/VMC, CAD/CAM or manufacturing.
- Candidates with practical knowledge of CAD + CAM + CNC/VMC programming will be preferred.
- Positive understanding of mechanical drawings and machining processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work on the shop floor.
- Ability to learn new CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to coordinate with Production, QC, Tool Room and CNC/VMC Operators.
