About the Role

We are constructing a large private neoclassical residence in Ahmedabad featuring approximately 12,000 cubic feet of dressed natural sandstone — domes, cornices, column capitals, balustrades, and full ashlar facing — designed by a leading UK architectural practice. We are seeking an owner's-side Facade Engineer to own the stone-to-structure interface: anchor and restraint design, fixing systems, water management, and execution quality for the entire stone envelope. This is a hands-on technical role, not a glazing or curtain-wall position.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and/or review anchor and restraint systems for dressed stone elements — cornices, balustrades, capitals, domes, parapets, and ashlar facing — under both gravity and seismic loading
- Verify stone thickness, spans, and fixing details against the architect's profiles and Indian codes (IS 1893 seismic, IS 875,



relevant masonry/cladding standards)
- Detail movement joints, support brackets, dowels/cramps, and cavity drainage / water management behind the stone
- Independently review and approve the stone contractor's proposed fixing methodology and shop drawings
- Coordinate the stone-fixing design with the structural engineer (cast-in items, tolerances, edge distances) and the executive architect
- Conduct site inspections during stone fixing; enforce installation quality, restraint compliance, and tolerance control
- Flag risks early and maintain fixing/anchor schedules and method statements

Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, or M.Tech/M.E. in Structural Engineering
- Demonstrable experience in natural / dimension stone cladding — dry-fixed stone, mechanical anchoring, ventilated stone facades (not adhesive/wet-set veneer only)
