The Role
This role can be based either in Singapore or Sydney.
As a Senior Underwriting Developer, Protection you will be working closely with the AVP, Global Underwriting & Claims Development, Protection to support a 12-month project to update our underwriting manual Ocean, with a particular focus on developing protection underwriting philosophy.

As a Senior Underwriting Developer, you will develop and implement an underwriting proposition that meets both client needs and is consistent with PL Re’s strategic focus, including the development of risk‑based underwriting frameworks suitable for automation.

Duties
Ocean Development (80-90%)
- Develop, review, and update medical research‑based loading (RBL) papers for Protection products, translating clinical evidence into transparent, defensible underwriting positions suitable for Ocean.
- Conduct structured medical literature reviews, including epidemiology, prognosis, treatment advances, and outcomes relevant to Life, CI, TPD, and IP underwriting.
- Synthesise medical evidence into concise, well‑structured content aligned to existing underwriting philosophy and Ocean standards.
- Support prioritised Ocean Protection content refresh activity in line with agreed
