About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
X# (XSharp) Developer
to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and modernizing enterprise business applications.
X# is an open-source .NET language designed as a direct migration path from
Visual Objects (VO)
. It is currently the target platform for Bradbury Phillips International applications. The successful candidate will work on the existing X# codebase while contributing to the company's longer-term modernization roadmap, including the eventual transition toward
C# and ASP.NET Core
.
This is a high-priority role for a developer who can work independently within a mature codebase, understand complex business logic, support customer requirements, and proactively contribute to product improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications built using
X# (XSharp)
.
- Support and contribute to
Visual Objects (VO)
to X# migration
activities.
- Work with
SQL Server
, including complex queries, schema management, stored procedures, and database troubleshooting.
- Develop both core product roadmap features and customer-specific/bespoke functionality.
- Design and develop new reports, including reports using
Stimulsoft
where applicable.
- Provide
2nd-level technical support
through the JIRA ticket management portal.
- Analyze customer issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare simple software design specifications for internal change requests and paid customer requests.
- Understand and work effectively within a complex, mature codebase with limited existing documentation.
- Document technical solutions, functionality, workflows, and relevant areas of the codebase.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve application workflows, usability, and UI.
