We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. accountant to join our team based in India but working on the US time zone (typically the night shift). This role is responsible for managing the daily accounting operations for our US subsidiary, ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal and state tax regulations.
Key responsibilities
Daily accounting operations: Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and releasing authorized payments.
Bookkeeping and reconciliation: Perform bookkeeping, including preparing and entering journal entries and conducting monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Client communication: Interact directly with US clients and internal teams via email and phone during US business hours to follow up for SOA collection & confirmation, address queries and provide timely updates.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (e.g., B. Com, M. Com).
Experience working in a US accounting role, with specific experience managing financial tasks for US clients.
Adaptable to work through ERP systems.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Adequate written and verbal communication skills in English to communicate effectively with US clients and teams.
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines while working on a night shift.
Work environment
This role requires working alongside the existing operations and service teams in our Mumbai office. Common timings are from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST. The workplace is conducive and friendly.
