PHP Developer – ONC Health IT Certification Services
We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain backend services that support our platform's compliance with the ONC Health IT Certification Program. You'll work closely with our compliance, QA, and clinical informatics teams to implement and test functionality tied to certification criteria such as USCDI data classes, FHIR-based APIs, and interoperability requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of healthcare regulation and software engineering, and who is comfortable navigating detailed technical specifications and audit-driven development cycles.
What You'll Do
Design and build PHP-based backend services and APIs that meet ONC certification criteria Implement and maintain FHIR R4 / SMART on FHIR APIs to support data exchange and Conditions of Certification (e.g., API, Real World Testing, Information Blocking)Map and transform clinical data to align with USCDI data classes and elements Collaborate with QA and compliance teams to prepare for ONC-ACB (Authorized Certification Body) testing and surveillance Build and maintain integrations with EHR/EMR systems, HL7 v2, CCD/C-CDA documents, and other healthcare data formats Write and maintain test cases tied to certification test procedures (e.g., g(10), b(1), b(10), d(1)–d(13))Participate in Real World Testing plan execution and annual ONC reporting cycles. Document technical implementations for audit readiness and certification submissions Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during internal QA, ONC-ACB testing, or surveillance audits Stay current on ONC rule updates (e.g., HTI-1, HTI-2) and translate regulatory changes into technical requirements
