Marine Superintendent – Containers

(Based in Singapore)

ORGANIZATION:

Reporting to the Head of Marine Department, you will be a key member of the shore-based team responsible for the safe, effective, and compliant operation of the company's container vessel fleet. You will work closely with vessel masters, technical teams, chartering, and commercial stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high standards of navigational safety.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide marine operational support and guidance to Masters and shipboard teams on navigational safety, cargo operations, and vessel performance. Monitor and support container cargo operations including stowage planning, lashing arrangements, dangerous goods (IMDG) compliance, reefer container operations, and cargo securing requirements. Review and monitor vessel schedules, port operations, turnaround times,



and voyage execution to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery. Monitor weather routing, passage planning, and navigational practices to ensure safe and economical voyages. Investigate marine incidents, near misses, cargo claims, and navigational deficiencies, implementing corrective and preventive actions where required. Conduct vessel visits, navigational audits, safety inspections, and Masters' reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and international regulations. Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other applicable statutory and flag state requirements. Support the implementation of safety initiatives, risk assessments, navigational procedures, and fleet-wide best practices. Coordinate with vessel crews, terminals, port agents, and shore-based departments to ensure smooth vessel operations and cargo movements.
