Job Purpose
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for the efficient, accurate and transparent management of Organization's financial and accounting functions, including finalisation of accounts, Balance Sheet preparation, invoicing, statutory compliance, payroll, project accounts, audit coordination and financial reporting.
The incumbent should have robust practical knowledge of Tally, PFMS and statutory financial systems and should be capable of independently handling day-to-day accounts and ensuring timely compliance with all applicable financial and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting, including receipts, payments, journal entries, ledgers, cash book and bank reconciliation.
- Independently handle finalisation of accounts, including Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet and supporting schedules.
- Manage invoicing, billing, revenue accounting and reconciliation for testing, consultancy, research, training and other activities.
- Handle Tally/ERP and PFMS, including accounting, reconciliation, reporting and fund utilisation, wherever applicable.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax and other statutory requirements.
- Supervise payroll, salary accounting, employee claims, reimbursements and advances.
- Maintain project-wise accounts and prepare utilisation certificates/expenditure statements for Government-funded and sponsored projects.
- Monitor receivables, payables, advances and outstanding balances and ensure timely settlement.
- Scrutinise vendor invoices, purchase bills and payment proposals and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Assist in budget preparation, expenditure monitoring and financial planning.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, Government and project audits and ensure timely compliance with audit observations.
- Prepare financial statements, MIS and reports for Management.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, Government departments, funding agencies and statutory authorities.
- Maintain proper and audit-ready financial records, vouchers and statutory documents.
Essential
Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com.) with specialisation in Accounting / Finance from a recognised University/Institution.
Desirable
CA / CMA or equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in Accounts and Finance.
- Strong hands-on experience in finalisation of accounts, Balance Sheet preparation, invoicing, GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, payroll and audit.
- Practical experience in Tally and PFMS is essential.
- Experience in Government-funded projects, grants, sponsored research projects and utilisation certificates will be preferred.
- Experience in an autonomous institution, research organisation, Government organisation or similar establishment will be an added advantage.

Essential Skills
Strong accounting and financial reporting skills, proficiency in Tally, PFMS and MS Excel, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as effectively with colleagues and across departments.
Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
