Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Fabric Sourcing professional responsible for identifying, developing, and sourcing fabrics as per product requirements, quality standards, cost targets, and timelines. The role involves coordinating with fabric suppliers, mills, vendors, merchandising, design, and production teams to ensure timely availability of the right fabric.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop reliable fabric mills, suppliers, and vendors based on company requirements.
- Source fabrics according to design, quality, composition, GSM, construction, finish, colour, and price requirements.
- Develop recent fabric qualities and maintain a strong fabric vendor base.
- Coordinate with vendors for fabric swatches, lab dips, strike-offs, samples, and approvals.
- Negotiate fabric prices, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and delivery timelines.
- Compare vendor quotations and select suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely fabric development and bulk delivery.
- Coordinate with Design, Buying, Merchandising, Quality, and Production teams for fabric requirements.
- Ensure fabrics meet approved specifications and quality standards before bulk production.
- Monitor fabric testing, inspection, and approval processes.
- Maintain records of fabric developments, vendor details, prices, lead times, and approvals.
- Track fabric orders from development stage through bulk delivery.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, alternate fabrics, and better sourcing options.




- Conduct regular market research to identify new fabric qualities, trends, suppliers, and sourcing opportunities.
- Resolve fabric quality, shortage, rejection, and delivery-related issues with vendors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with fabric mills and suppliers.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of woven and knitted fabrics.
- Good understanding of fabric composition, GSM, construction, finishes, dyeing, printing, and washing.
- Knowledge of fabric quality parameters and testing standards.
- Strong vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of costing and price comparison.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple fabric developments and orders simultaneously.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and sourcing-related documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Textiles, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Experience in fabric sourcing, textile sourcing, buying, merchandising, or apparel manufacturing will be preferred.

Experience

2–6 years of relevant experience in fabric sourcing, preferably in the fashion/apparel industry.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹53,000.00 per month
