JOB DESCRIPTION – SPECIAL EDUCATOR

Position: Special Educator
Location: NIARC, Koyilandy, Kozhikode, Kerala

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and qualified Special Educator to support children with developmental and intellectual disabilities through individualized education, skill development, and structured learning programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child’s needs and abilities.
- Provide special education and structured learning activities for children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
- Support development of academic, communication, social, behavioral, and functional skills.
- Conduct classroom activities and maintain a positive, inclusive, and child-friendly learning setting.
- Monitor and document students’ progress and prepare regular reports.
- Coordinate with therapists, parents, and other professionals to support holistic child development.




- Assist children in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and functional independence.
- Participate in assessments, parent meetings, school programs, and special events.
- Maintain accurate student records and follow NIARC’s educational and documentation standards.

Educational Qualification

- B.Ed. Special Education / D.Ed. Special Education in Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
- RCI Registration/License preferred.
- Candidates with relevant special education qualifications and experience in working with children with special needs will be preferred.

Experience

- Freshers with relevant qualifications may apply.
- Experience working with children with IDD, developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs will be an added advantage.
