Job Description – Senior Production Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Manager with strong knowledge of the steel industry to oversee production operations at our Taloja plant. The candidate should have hands-on experience with steel cutting and slitting operations, production planning, machine maintenance, and overall plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise day-to-day production activities at the plant.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Handle and oversee steel cutting and slitting line operations.
- Ensure optimum machine utilisation, production efficiency, and minimum material wastage.
- Monitor product quality and ensure production is carried out as per customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery.
- Troubleshoot machine-related production issues and coordinate timely corrective action.
- Monitor raw material usage, production output, rejection, and wastage.
- Lead and supervise production workers and ensure proper allocation of manpower.
- Maintain production records, reports, and daily MIS.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and operational standards.
- Coordinate with Stores, Quality, Dispatch, and other departments for smooth plant operations.




- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and optimise production costs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong experience in the steel industry, preferably in steel processing/manufacturing.
- Hands-on knowledge of steel cutting and slitting lines is essential.
- Good understanding of steel processing machinery and machine maintenance.
- Experience in production planning, manpower management, and shop-floor supervision.
- Ability to troubleshoot production and machinery-related issues.
- Good understanding of quality control, wastage reduction, and production efficiency.
- Engineering Degree/Diploma (Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or related field) preferred.
- Positive leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of plant safety and operational procedures.

Location Preference

Candidates residing in Navi Mumbai, Taloja, Panvel, or nearby areas will be preferred, considering the location of the plant and the operational requirements of the role.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on production professional from the steel industry, with practical experience in cutting/slitting operations, machinery maintenance, production management, and handling shop-floor teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
