Position: QC Engineer (Welded Tubes)

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Educational Qualifications: BE in Mechanical / Production / Industrial or equivalent Engineering.

Certifications (one or more preferred/required) in Lead Auditor Course or Internal Auditor Course, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, or TPM.

Experience Required: 3–4 Years (in Welded Tube / ERW / Steel Pipe Manufacturing Industries)

Location: Chhatral (Gandhinagar), Gujarat

Job Purpose

To ensure consistent product quality of welded tubes and incoming materials by carrying out stage-wise inspections, monitoring welding and dimensional quality, maintaining quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications and applicable quality standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Plan and organize inspection activities, quality checkpoints, testing schedules, and material inspection requirements as per customer specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out in-process, final, dimensional, visual, weld quality, and hydro/pressure testing inspections for welded tubes and related products.
- Monitor welding parameters, welding defects, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, straightness, ovality, and compliance with drawings/specifications.
- Manage inspection of incoming raw materials, strips/coils, vendor materials, and coordinate with vendors for quality compliance and improvement.
- Maintain QC reports, inspection reports, rejection records, traceability documents, calibration records, and quality system documentation.
- Review inspection findings, audit observations, non-conformities, rejection trends, and quality performance data to identify quality gaps and risks.




- Conduct root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams for rejection reduction and process improvement.
- Support customer inspections, audit activities, training, quality awareness, ISO compliance, safety requirements, and shop floor quality systems including 5S discipline.

Technical Skills Required

- Knowledge of welded tube / ERW/steel pipe manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in dimensional, visual, and weld quality inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in handling measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Measuring Tape.
- Knowledge of welding defects, hydro testing, root cause analysis, and ISO quality systems/documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Reporting & Documentation)

Soft Skills Required

- Proactive, presentation skills, effective communication, time management skills.
- Delegation, training, review, auditing, process/result oriented approach.
- Root cause analysis, systematic problem solving (SPS) skill, continue improvement.
