We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate production-ready publishing platform capabilities across CMS integration, authoring experiences, subscription services, and internal tools.

You will work across backend, APIs, data, distributed systems, and full-stack delivery, with strong ownership of reliability, scalability, and long-term evolution of production services.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver services end-to-end from ambiguous requirements through production.
- Design and evolve REST APIs used by web, Android, and iOS clients, with strong backward compatibility and versioning practices.
- Build production backend services using Go or Java.
- Model and query data across SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Design and implement content search and retrieval using Elasticsearch.
- Build reusable frontend/UI components as part of end-to-end feature delivery.
- Apply distributed-systems patterns including idempotency, retries, partial-failure handling, and eventual consistency.
- Build asynchronous, event-driven workflows using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Design and optimise caching strategies with Redis, including TTL and cache invalidation.
- Scale services horizontally through load balancing, partitioning, and appropriate state management.
- Build observability into services through logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
- Troubleshoot live production issues, identify root causes, ship fixes, and prevent recurrence.
- Own and evolve production services over the long term, including meaningful architectural improvements as requirements and traffic change.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine, prioritise,



and sequence requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain a high standard for clean, maintainable engineering.
- Write meaningful unit and integration tests covering real behaviours and failure paths.
- Work effectively within Git, CI/CD, and cloud-based development and deployment environments.

Required Qualifications

- Strong professional software engineering experience at a senior level.
- Robust experience building production backend services in Go or Java.
- Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs consumed by multiple clients.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL data modelling, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and failure-mode design.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
- Experience building scalable services capable of supporting high production traffic.
- Strong production troubleshooting and incident-response skills.
- Experience owning and evolving a production service for 1–2+ years.
- Strong understanding of automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and cloud fundamentals.
- Ability to conduct effective code reviews and maintain engineering quality standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills,



with the ability to shape scope rather than simply execute predefined requirements.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with performance profiling and load testing.
- Security fundamentals including authentication, authorisation, input validation, and secure secret handling.
- Experience working with AWS and Node.js.
- Experience delivering full-stack features and reusable UI components.

Remote Working

The successful candidate should be comfortable working as a remote contributor, including:

- Participating in daily standups and weekly team connects.
- Taking part in technical discussions and code reviews.
- Communicating clearly and proactively.
- Using asynchronous communication with sufficient context for decisions to be made offline.
- Remaining responsive during regular office hours and occasionally outside them when required.
- Being willing to spend up to 10 days onsite during onboarding.

Pay: ₹1,400,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
