Job Description – Senior Accountant | MIS & Plant Finance
Position: Senior Accountant – MIS & Plant Finance
Location: Morbi, Gujarat
Industry: Manufacturing / Minerals / Industrial Operations

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations along with MIS reporting, production-related financial data, invoicing, reconciliation, and plant finance activities.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Advanced Excel, ERP/accounting software, production MIS, sales & purchase invoicing, ledger reconciliation, inventory-related accounting, and financial reporting.
The candidate will work closely with the Production, Purchase, Sales, Stores, Dispatch, and Management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial and operational MIS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Finance Operations
Maintain day-to-day accounting transactions and financial records.
Manage purchase, sales, expenses, receipts, payments, journal entries, and ledger postings.
Maintain customer, vendor, and general ledgers.
Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries in ERP/accounting software.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
Support statutory and audit-related requirements.
2. Production MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Production MIS.
Track production quantity, consumption, output, wastage, and production-related expenses.
Prepare production vs. sales and production vs. dispatch reports.
Analyze production data and highlight major variances to management.
Prepare plant-wise / product-wise MIS reports as required.
Develop management reports and dashboards using Advanced Excel.
Ensure accuracy and timely submission of MIS reports to management.
3. Invoicing & Billing
Prepare and verify sales invoices, purchase invoices, debit notes, and credit notes.
Coordinate with Sales, Dispatch, Stores, and Production teams for accurate billing.
Verify quantity, rates, taxes, freight, discounts,
and other invoice details.
Ensure invoices are properly recorded in the ERP/accounting system.
Maintain proper documentation and records for all invoices.
Monitor pending billing and dispatch-related documentation.
4. Reconciliation
Perform customer and vendor ledger reconciliation.
Conduct bank reconciliation on a regular basis.
Reconcile sales, purchase, inventory, and production-related data.
Identify discrepancies and coordinate with concerned departments for corrections.
Ensure outstanding balances are accurate and properly supported.
Prepare reconciliation statements and variance reports.
5. Inventory & Stock Accounting
Coordinate with Stores and Production teams for inventory-related data.
Monitor raw material, packing material, finished goods, and consumable stock records.
Reconcile physical stock with ERP/accounting records.
Assist in stock verification and identify inventory discrepancies.
Prepare stock movement and inventory-related MIS.
Monitor consumption against production norms where applicable.
6. Excel & ERP Management
The candidate should be highly proficient in MS Excel, including:
Pivot Tables
VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
SUMIF / SUMIFS
COUNTIF / COUNTIFS
IF and nested formulas
Data validation
Conditional formatting
MIS dashboards
Data reconciliation
Monthly reporting and analysis
Hands-on experience with ERP / accounting software is required. Experience in Tally, SAP, ERP-based manufacturing accounting systems, or similar software will be preferred.
7. Cost & Variance Analysis
Assist in monitoring production costs and operational expenses.
Compare actual production costs with budgets/standards where applicable.
Analyze material consumption and production variances.
Prepare cost-related MIS for management review.
Highlight unusual expenses, variances, and financial discrepancies.
8. Coordination with Plant & Management
Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, Sales, Dispatch, and Administration teams.
Collect and verify operational data required for MIS preparation.
Provide timely financial and operational information to management.
Support management in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure smooth coordination between accounts and plant operations.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in B.Com / M.Com / Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
Strong practical knowledge of accounting and finance.
Experience in manufacturing / plant / minerals / industrial operations will be highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of MIS preparation and data analysis.
Excellent command of Advanced Excel.
Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software.
Strong understanding of invoicing, reconciliation, inventory, and ledger management.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Robust attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
Preferred Experience
5+ years of relevant experience in Accounts, MIS, Plant Finance, or Manufacturing Accounting will be preferred.
Candidates with strong experience in production MIS + accounting + Excel + ERP will be given preference.
