Pro-Tec Group is a Singapore-based company providing geotechnical, structural, environmental, and real-time monitoring solutions for construction, infrastructure, and industrial projects. The company is expanding its technical capability in India to support IoT hardware development, embedded integration, field deployment, and sensor-to-cloud monitoring solutions.

Role Purpose

Pro-Tec Geosystems (SG) Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a hands-on Senior IoT Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain the company’s real-time IoT monitoring portal and dashboard platform.

The candidate will work closely with the embedded/IoT hardware team to build software systems for receiving, processing, storing, calculating, visualizing, alerting, and reporting data from IoT gateways, 4G routers, field monitoring devices, environmental monitoring systems, industrial sensors, and future Pro-Tec IoT products.

The role requires robust experience in backend development, IoT communication, databases, real-time dashboards, formula-based calculations, alerts, reports, map view, device management, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Pro-Tec’s real-time IoT monitoring portal, backend services, APIs, dashboards, databases, and reporting modules.
- Build device-to-cloud communication using MQTT/MQTTS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets/WSS, and other communication methods.
- Develop services to receive, decode, validate, process, store, and display real-time and historical data from IoT gateways and monitoring devices.
- Create payload decoders and protocol parsers for JSON, Hex, binary, and proprietary device data formats.
- Analysis logs

- Implement site-wise, client-wise, project-wise, and device-wise filtering for logs, graphs, reports, live feed, and map view.
- Build real-time auto-polling, live refresh, device status, and data update monitoring features.
- Build alert systems based on project limits, threshold values, device health, communication failure, and exceedance conditions.
- Develop report export features in PDF, Excel, and CSV formats.
- Support user management, customer login,



role-based access, project/device assignment, admin controls, and audit logs.
- Support remote configuration, device health monitoring, command handling, OTA/FOTA workflow, and firmware update status tracking.
- Work with the embedded/IoT engineer to define payload format, API requirements, data flow, authentication, offline sync, and troubleshooting methods.
- Improve existing portals without affecting live operations and support future platform modernization.
- Maintain technical documentation for APIs, database design, payload format, calculation logic, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Required Technical SkillsBackend Development

- Solid hands-on experience in C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core.
- Knowledge of Python, Node.js, or TypeScript will be an advantage.
- Experience in REST APIs, background services, asynchronous processing, and event-driven workflows.
- Strong debugging, error handling, logging, retry logic, and production support skills.

IoT Communication

- Strong knowledge of MQTT, MQTTS, TCP/IP, socket programming, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets/WSS, and TLS/SSL.
- Experience with MQTT brokers, topics, QoS, persistent connections, reconnect logic, timeout handling, and secure device communication.
- Ability to handle device registration, authentication, heartbeat, health status, and communication logs.

Database

- Experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL / SQL Server.
- Knowledge of time-series or NoSQL databases will be an advantage.
- Ability to design databases for real-time data, historical data, alerts, reports, device status, and audit logs.
- Experience in query optimization, indexing, backup, and high-volume data handling.

Frontend and Dashboard

- Experience with React.js / Next.js / Angular / Vue.js.
- Strong JavaScript / TypeScript knowledge.
- Ability to build dashboards with charts, graphs, tables, maps, status indicators, alert panels,



and historical views.
- Experience with Chart.js, Highcharts, ECharts, D3.js, or similar tools.

Deployment and Server Management

- Experience with Linux, Docker, Git, Nginx, SSL, CI/CD, and production deployment.
- Working knowledge of AWS, cloud VPS, or similar hosting environments.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, backup, server security, and production troubleshooting.

Preferred Experience

- IoT platforms, connected-device software, monitoring portals, or real-time dashboards.
- Custom TCP/MQTT device protocols and payload decoder development.
- Real-time data handling and high-frequency telemetry.
- Map-based dashboards and device location tracking.
- Alert systems, notification systems, and automated reports.
- OTA/FOTA, remote configuration, and device command systems.
- Existing portal modernization and live production support.
- Working with embedded, firmware, hardware, and field teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be able to independently manage the full software flow:

Device Data → MQTT/TCP/API → Payload Decoding → Backend Processing → Formula Calculation → Database → Dashboard → Alerts → Reports → Map View → Production Support

The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot across device communication, backend, database, dashboard, reports, and deployment layers.

Practical Test Requirement

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical test involving:

- Receive sample device data through MQTT or API.
- Decode JSON/Hex/binary payload.
- Store timestamped data in a database.
- Display data in a table and graph.
- Implement Leq calculation from 5-minute values.
- Show predictive and actual results.
- Generate threshold alerts.
- Export data in PDF/Excel/CSV.
- Explain backend architecture and database design.

Key Outcome

The selected candidate will work with Pro-Tec’s IoT hardware team to build and improve a reliable, scalable, and production-ready monitoring portal for real-time device data, dashboards, alerts, reports, map view, device management, and future IoT product expansion.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
