Job Summary

We are looking for a Trainee DCS Engineer to support the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the Distributed Control System (DCS) in the distillery plant. The candidate will work closely with the Instrumentation, Electrical, and Production teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and operate the DCS system for various distillery process sections.
- Monitor important process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, and control valve position.
- Assist in DCS operation during plant start-up, shutdown, and normal operations.
- Identify process alarms and abnormal conditions and escalate them to the concerned senior engineer.
- Assist in troubleshooting DCS-related issues and communication failures.
- Support DCS engineers in controller, I/O, PLC and communication system troubleshooting.
- Assist in checking and maintaining control loops, alarms, interlocks, and sequence logic.
- Coordinate with the Instrumentation and Production teams for process-related issues.
- Maintain records of DCS alarms, breakdowns, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in DCS backup, database management, and system documentation.
- Follow plant safety procedures, SOPs, and permit-to-work systems.
- Participate in preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Support calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments connected to the DCS.




- Learn and understand distillery process operations and automation systems.

Required Skills

- Basic knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial automation.
- Basic understanding of instrumentation such as transmitters, control valves, sensors, and switches.
- Knowledge of process parameters and control loops.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work in shift operations.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a plant environment.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E.- Mechanical.

Preferred Knowledge

- Experience or training on DCS systems such as Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens, ABB, Emerson, or similar systems will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of distillation, fermentation, evaporation, and other distillery process operations will be an advantage.
