Key Responsibilities
Qualification
- Any Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering Technology, Food Production, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in factory, industrial, textile mill, manufacturing unit, or institutional canteen management.
- Experience in handling large employee strength canteens (500+ employees preferred).
Canteen Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day canteen operations for employees and visitors.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages.
- Monitor food quality, taste, quantity, and presentation standards.
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly menus in coordination with management.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, dining area, storage rooms, and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with FSSAI guidelines and factory hygiene standards.
- Implement pest control, waste management, and cleaning schedules.
Inventory & Store Management
- Monitor stock levels of food materials, groceries, vegetables, and consumables.
- Maintain proper inventory records and stock registers.
- Verify material receipts, consumption, and stock reconciliation.
- Minimize food wastage and control operational costs.
Vendor & Procurement Management
- Coordinate with suppliers for procurement of raw materials and kitchen consumables.
- Ensure timely delivery and quality of purchased materials.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate pricing whenever required.
- Monitor contract compliance for outsourced canteen services, if applicable.
Team Supervision
- Supervise cooks, helpers, serving staff, and housekeeping personnel.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor attendance.
- Train canteen employees on hygiene, safety, and service standards.
- Ensure discipline and efficient manpower utilization.
Cost Control & Administration
- Prepare and monitor canteen operating budgets.
- Maintain records of daily meals served and food consumption.
- Control food costs, wastage, and unnecessary expenses.
- Submit periodic MIS reports to management.
Employee Welfare & Customer Service
- Address employee feedback and complaints regarding food quality and service.
- Conduct regular feedback reviews to improve canteen services.
- Ensure a pleasant dining experience for all employees.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to food handling and workplace safety.
- Maintain records of health checks for canteen staff.
- Coordinate with EHS and Factory Administration teams during audits and inspections.
- Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency procedures are in place.
