Quality Inspector – Residential Interior Manufacturing
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Industry: Residential Interior / Modular Furniture Manufacturing
Experience: 2–5 years preferred

About the Role
We are an interior manufacturing company providing manufacturing support for residential interior projects.
Our manufacturing includes:
- Modular Kitchens
- Wardrobes
- TV Units
- Crockery Units
- Storage Units
- Bedroom Furniture
- Other residential interior furniture
We are looking for a Quality Inspector who will be responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of products manufactured in our factory before they are sent for installation.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of residential interior furniture manufacturing and be able to identify quality issues in kitchens, wardrobes and other modular furniture.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Quality Inspection
- Inspect finished and semi-finished residential interior products.
- Check products against approved drawings, dimensions and specifications.
- Check modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, storage units and other furniture.
- Ensure products are manufactured accurately and are ready for site installation.
Dimensional & Visual Quality Checks
Check:
- Overall dimensions
- Length, width and height
- Panel dimensions
- Cabinet dimensions
- Door and shutter sizes
- Alignment and squareness
- Edge-banding quality
- Laminate/finish quality
- Drilling accuracy
- Hardware positioning
- Joint and assembly quality
- Surface scratches, dents and damage
- Colour/shade and finish consistency
Production Stage Inspection
Carry out quality checks at different stages:
Cutting → CNC → Edge Banding → Drilling → Assembly → Final Inspection
Identify mistakes as early as possible so that unnecessary rework and material wastage can be avoided.
Drawing & Specification Checking
- Read and understand furniture production drawings.
- Compare manufactured components with drawings and cut lists.
- Verify dimensions and specifications before final approval.
- Identify discrepancies and communicate them to the production team.
Defect Identification & Rework
- Identify manufacturing defects.
- Clearly communicate defects to production/carpentry teams.
- Ensure corrections are completed before final approval.
- Track repeated quality issues and highlight them to management.
- Help reduce rework, rejection and material wastage.
Final Quality Approval
Before a job leaves the factory:
- Conduct final inspection.
- Ensure all components are complete.
- Verify dimensions and finish.
- Check for visible defects and damage.
- Ensure the product is suitable for transportation and installation.
- Give final quality clearance as per company process.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain basic quality records such as:
- Job-wise quality checklist
- Defect/rejection records
- Rework records
- Final inspection status
- Pending quality issues
- Recurring defects
Basic knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, practical and familiar with residential interior manufacturing.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in modular furniture / interior manufacturing / furniture quality inspection.
- Experience with modular kitchens and wardrobes is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, laminates and furniture hardware.
- Ability to understand furniture drawings and dimensions.
- Good knowledge of CNC, edge-banding and furniture production processes is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify defects quickly and accurately.
- Good communication with production and carpentry teams.
- Basic MS Excel knowledge.
Education
ITI / Diploma / Any relevant technical qualification is preferred.
However, practical experience in modular furniture and residential interior manufacturing will be given more importance than qualification.
Important
This is not a general engineering Quality Inspector role.
We specifically need someone who understands the quality requirements of:
Residential Interiors → Modular Kitchens → Wardrobes → Furniture → Factory Production
The candidate should be capable of looking at a finished kitchen or wardrobe component and identifying whether it is dimensionally correct, properly manufactured, properly finished and ready for installation at site.
Key Performance Indicators
The candidate will be evaluated on:
- Accuracy of quality inspection
- Reduction in site-related quality issues
- Reduction in factory rework
- Reduction in rejection
- Correct identification of manufacturing defects
- Final product quality
- Timely completion of quality checks
- Proper maintenance of quality records
Compensation
₹25,000–₹35,000 per month, depending on experience and practical knowledge.
For a strong candidate with good experience specifically in modular kitchens, wardrobes and residential interior manufacturing, we can consider a higher package.
We are looking for a person who can ensure that nothing leaves our factory unless it is ready for the site.
