Role description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workday HCM Consultant with strong functional expertise across Core HCM, Perks, Compensation (Core & Advanced), Talent Management, and Recruiting.
The role involves working closely with US / Stakeholders to design, configure, and support scalable Workday solutions across the employee lifecycle.
The candidate should have hands-on experience in implementation and support engagements, with the ability to drive functional design and configuration independently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workday HCM Configuration & Functional Delivery
- Configure and maintain:
- - Core HCM (worker lifecycle, org structures, job profiles)
- Benefits (plan setup, enrollments, eligibility rules)
- Compensation (base pay, merit, bonus, advanced comp)
- Talent (performance, goals, succession, talent profiles)
- Recruiting (job requisition, candidate lifecycle, offer mgmt)
- Translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions
- Support end-to-end business processes across hire-to-retire lifecycle
2. Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
- Conduct workshops with business stakeholders
- Prepare functional design documents (FDDs) and configuration workbooks
- Recommend best practices leveraging Workday functionality
3. Business Process Configuration
- Configure and optimize:
- - Business processes (Hire, Change Job, Compensation review, Recruiting workflows)
- Approval chains, notifications, and security policies
- Ensure alignment with organization’s HR operating model
4. Reporting & Data Management
- Develop:
- - Advanced/custom reports
- Calculated fields and dashboards
- Ensure data accuracy, audit readiness, and governance
5. Integration Collaboration (Functional Support)
- Work closely with integration teams for:
- - Benefits providers
- Payroll systems
- ATS or external recruiting vendors
- Validate data mapping and integration outputs
6. Testing & Deployment
- Participate in:
- - Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT cycles
- Validate business scenarios across modules (HCM, Recruiting, Comp, Benefits)
- Support production deployment and stabilization
7. Production Support & Enhancements
- Troubleshoot functional issues across modules
- Support Workday releases (R1/R2) and impact analysis
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
8. Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain:
- - SOPs
- Configuration documentation
- Knowledge transfer artifacts
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Workday Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- - Core HCM
- Benefits
- Compensation (Core + Advanced preferred)
- Talent & Performance
- Recruiting
- Good understanding of full Workday HCM product areas
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of Workday HCM experience
- Minimum 2+ end-to-end Workday implementations or equivalent support exposure
- Experience working across multiple HCM modules (Core + 2–3 additional areas mandatory)
Certifications (Mandatory / Preferred)
- Active Workday Certification in:
- - HCM Core (Mandatory)
- Benefits / Compensation / Recruiting / Talent (Preferred)
