Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Social Science
Department: Social Science
Reporting To: Principal / Vice Principal / Academic Coordinator
Location: Gyan International School, Palla, Greater Noida

Job Summary

Gyan International School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dynamic PGT Social Science to teach senior secondary students and foster an understanding of history, geography, political science, economics, and contemporary society. The ideal candidate should possess solid subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make Social Science engaging through discussion, analysis, activities, and real-world examples.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver effective lessons in Social Science/Social Studies according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach senior secondary students with emphasis on conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and application of knowledge.
- Prepare students effectively for Class XI–XII examinations and CBSE Board examinations.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, question papers, case studies, and other teaching-learning resources.
- Relate historical, geographical, political, and economic concepts to current affairs and real-life situations.
- Use innovative and experiential teaching methodologies, including discussions, debates, case studies, presentations, map work, projects, and multimedia resources.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, research skills, civic awareness, and informed opinions.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyse student performance and provide remedial support and individual guidance wherever required.
- Organise and encourage participation in debates, quizzes, model parliament, mock elections, exhibitions, heritage activities, and other social-science-related events.
- Incorporate appropriate digital tools and educational technology into classroom teaching.




- Maintain a positive, inclusive, disciplined, and student-centred learning environment.
- Mentor students and contribute to their academic, social, and overall personality development.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and areas requiring improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum planning, interdisciplinary activities, assessments, and school events.
- Participate actively in PTMs, staff meetings, workshops, professional development programmes, and co-curricular activities.
- Perform other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the school administration.

Educational Qualification

- Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject such as History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or Sociology from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE/senior secondary school, will be an advantage.
- Candidates should have strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Pay: ₹11,518.82 - ₹15,000.00 per month
