Packaging Line Incharge – Hand Tool Manufacturing

Job Purpose

To supervise and control the packaging line for hand tools such as spanners, adjustable wrenches, water pump pliers and other forged hand tools, ensuring proper packing, quality, productivity and timely dispatch as per production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day operations of the packaging line and ensure smooth workflow.
- Plan and allocate manpower according to daily packaging targets and production requirements.
- Ensure proper counting, inspection, packing, labeling and identification of finished hand tools.
- Monitor packaging of products as per approved packing specifications, customer requirements and dispatch standards.
- Ensure correct use of cartons, polybags, labels, stickers, sleeves, tapes and other packaging materials.
- Verify product size, model, quantity, finish and packing method before final packing.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores and Dispatch departments for smooth material flow.
- Maintain proper records of daily production, packing quantity, rejection, rework and manpower.
- Monitor line productivity and minimize packing defects, material wastage and downtime.
- Ensure FIFO and proper segregation of different models, sizes and customer orders.
- Identify and report packaging-related quality issues and take immediate corrective action.
- Ensure proper handling and stacking of finished hand tools to prevent scratches, rust, damage or mix-up.
- Train and guide packing operators regarding work methods,



quality standards and safety practices.
- Ensure housekeeping and 5S practices are maintained in the packaging area.
- Ensure employees follow prescribed safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support implementation of productivity improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Prepare and submit daily packaging reports to the concerned Production/Department Head.

- Accurate product and quantity identification.

- Timely completion of customer/dispatch packing requirements.

- 5S, housekeeping and safety compliance.

Qualification & Experience

- Qualification: ITI / Diploma / Graduate preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years in packaging/production supervision, preferably in hand tool, forging, engineering or metal manufacturing industry.
- Should have experience in handling production/packing manpower and shop-floor activities.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of hand tool packaging processes.
- Basic understanding of production and quality requirements.
- Good manpower handling and supervisory skills.
- Ability to maintain production and packaging records.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work under production targets and time constraints.
- Solid focus on quality, productivity and discipline.

Pay: ₹300,000.64 - ₹400,000.43 per year
