Job Overview
Job Title: Automation & Maintenance Engineer / Senior Engineer
Department: Equipment Maintenance & Automation
Industry: Solar Cell Manufacturing (Strictly Required)
Location: Navsari
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly specialized Automation & Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation, reliability, and precision of our automated solar cell manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate will have exclusive hands-on expertise in diagnosing, programming, and troubleshooting advanced control systems—specifically PLCs, HMIs, Servo Motors, and Servo Drives—across complex solar cell process equipment such as Wet Chemistry benches, Thermal/Diffusion furnaces, Laser processing equipment, and Metallization lines.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Controls Troubleshooting
- Diagnose, repair, and optimize industrial control systems, with a primary focus on PLCs, HMIs, Servo Motors, Stepper Motors, Encoders, and Servo Drives.
- Troubleshoot communication protocols and fieldbus networks connecting PLCs to servo amplifiers and remote I/O modules on the cell manufacturing line.
- Calibrate and tune servo drives and motors for high-speed, high-precision wafer handling to eliminate micro-cracks, cell breakages, and scratches linked to robotics and automation.
- Perform backup, restoration, and minor logic modifications for PLC (Must Have) and SCADA systems to improve machine logic and recover from system crashes.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of automated solar cell manufacturing equipment, specifically in Wet Chemistry, Thermal, Metallization, and Laser processes.
- Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems, replacing faulty servo amplifiers, pressure and temperature transducers, and analog/digital sensors.
- Analyze machine error logs and HMI alarm histories to identify root causes of repetitive mechanical or electrical jams.
- Work closely with process engineers to adjust servo speeds, acceleration/deceleration profiles, and automation logic for optimal cell efficiency and throughput.
Safety & Documentation
- Maintain an organized inventory of critical automation spares, including specific PLC CPU models, HMI panels, and exact servo drive ratings.
- Ensure strict equipment and personnel safety standards while managing the entire shift independently.
- Document all control system parameter changes, drive tuning settings, and modified PLC logic.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech/B.E.) or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience (Strictly in Solar Cell Manufacturing):
- For Engineer: 2 to 5 years of hands-on automation and maintenance experience directly within a Solar Photovoltaic Cell Manufacturing facility.
- For Senior Engineer: 5 to 8+ years of direct solar cell maintenance experience, including leading shifts independently and handling major servo/PLC upgrades.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Solar Equipment Mastery: Proven knowledge of automated handling tools, pneumatic systems, and low-cost automation systems specifically used in contemporary solar cell manufacturing.
- PLC & HMI Expertise: Strong hands-on experience forcing I/Os, monitoring live logic, and tracing faults on major industrial PLCs.
- Servo & Motion Control: Deep understanding of tuning and troubleshooting Servo Motors, Servo Drives, Encoders, and motion controllers for fragile silicon wafer handling.
- Sensors & Transducers: Proficiency in aligning and calibrating pressure transducers, temperature transducers, and high-precision analog/digital sensors.
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
