About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer to join our manufacturing/factory team. The candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, HMI programming, troubleshooting, modification and development of automation systems used in our industrial equipment.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working directly with PLC software and electrical control systems, understanding existing programs, making corrections and modifications, developing new programs, and visiting customer sites when required to troubleshoot and rectify automation-related faults.

Key ResponsibilitiesPLC Programming & Development

- Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial machinery.
- Strong knowledge of Ladder Logic programming is mandatory.
- Understand and interpret existing PLC programs developed by other engineers.
- Modify and update existing PLC programs based on machine requirements.
- Develop new PLC programs for new machines and automation projects.
- Upload and download PLC programs safely using appropriate programming software.
- Take backups of existing PLC programs and maintain proper program/version records.
- Proofread PLC logic and identify programming errors, sequence errors and interlocks.
- Debug programs during machine commissioning and production.

HMI Programming

- Develop and modify HMI programs/screens.
- Create and modify:
- Machine operating screens
- Alarm screens
- Parameter-setting screens
- Manual/auto operation screens
- Diagnostic screens
- Status/monitoring screens
- Interface HMI systems with PLCs.
- Troubleshoot communication and HMI-related faults.

PLC Platforms

Strong experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC systems is preferred and will be given high priority.

Experience with the following will be an added advantage:

- Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
- Mitsubishi PLC
- Renusys / Renu PLC
- Other industrial PLC platforms

The candidate should be able to understand different PLC architectures and adapt to different PLC platforms.

Troubleshooting & Fault Finding

- Diagnose PLC, HMI and electrical control-system faults.
- Identify whether a machine fault is caused by:
- PLC logic
- Sensors
- Actuators
- Relays/contactors




- Solenoid valves
- VFDs
- Communication issues
- Wiring
- Power supply
- HMI
- Programming/sequence errors
- Use electrical drawings and PLC diagnostics to identify faults.
- Correct programming and control-system issues quickly to minimize machine downtime.
- Assist production and service teams in resolving automation-related problems.

Customer-Site Support

This is a factory-based role, but the engineer must be willing to travel to customer sites when required.

Responsibilities may include:

- PLC/HMI commissioning at customer locations.
- Troubleshooting machines installed at customer sites.
- Correcting PLC/HMI programming faults.
- Making approved program modifications.
- Supporting machine commissioning and installation.
- Providing technical assistance to service engineers and customers.

Willingness to travel to customer sites is mandatory.

Electrical Knowledge

The candidate must have a good practical understanding of electrical control systems, including:

The candidate should be able to read and understand electrical control-panel drawings and PLC I/O diagrams.

Required QualificationsMinimum Qualification

- Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering with relevant certification/training in PLC Automation and Software Programming

OR

- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline with knowledge of industrial automation.

Experience





- Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in PLC programming, HMI programming, automation, commissioning or industrial troubleshooting.
- Candidates with demonstrated practical PLC programming skills will be preferred over candidates with only theoretical knowledge.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hands-on and capable of solving real machine problems, not someone who only has theoretical knowledge of PLCs.

The candidate should be able to take an existing machine program, understand its sequence and logic, identify an error, make the required correction, test the program, and safely deploy it to the machine.

The candidate should also be capable of developing a PLC/HMI program for a new machine based on the electrical drawings, machine sequence and functional requirements.

Work Location

Factory – Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

The role is primarily factory-based, with occasional travel to customer sites across India for commissioning, troubleshooting and service support.

Ideal Candidate

A strong candidate would have:

3+ years PLC/Automation experience + strong Ladder Logic + Rockwell/Allen-Bradley experience + HMI programming + electrical troubleshooting + machine commissioning experience.

Experience with Mitsubishi and Renu PLCs will be an additional advantage.
