Job Summary

The Technical Manager – IT Support Services will serve as the primary point of accountability for all IT infrastructure support activities. The role demands deep technical expertise in Linux Systems Administration, Networking, VMware, and Windows Server environments, combined with the ability to lead and coordinate a technical support team to ensure seamless day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Team Management:

- Lead and oversee the onsite IT support team to ensure timely resolution of all Networking and Windows/Linux Server requests as per the SOW scope.
- Assign, track, and review day-to-day tasks to team members; conduct follow-ups on open incidents and pending issues.
- Act as technical escalation point for L1, L2, and L3 support issues raised via ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, or equivalent).
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on server administration, network troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.
- Coordinate with the Inspiredge off-site support team for parallel remote assistance based on the requirement.
- Should provide weekly status reports in the required format and with required details
- Should have monthly review of progress/status of issues, updates and improvements
- Shall be the owner of Assets of the group companies with monthly update and review of assets records

Linux Systems Administration

- Installation, configuration, and administration of RHEL 6/7/8, CentOS, SUSE Linux, Ubuntu on physical and virtual servers.
- Perform RHEL OS migrations across versions (e.g., RHEL 6 to 7 or 8) as required by the client’s infrastructure roadmap.
- Manage Kernel upgrades, OS patching, and package installations using RPM, YUM, and DNF; leverage Redhat Linux Satellite Server for automation.
- Build and maintain PXE kickstart services for automated server provisioning using Redhat Linux Satellite Server.
- Configure and manage Linux services including DNS, DHCP, FTP, NFS, Samba, Apache (httpd), Tomcat, Nginx, Nagios, Zabbix, and Squid.
- Manage Linux user accounts, groups, file permissions, disk quotas, RAID levels, and LVM configurations.
- Configure and manage Redhat Linux Clusters, node cabling, and IP management.

VMware & Virtualization Management

- Administer VMware ESXi 5.5, 6.0, and higher – including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Create and manage VMware clusters for QA, Development, and Production environments; configure High Availability (HA) and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS).




- Perform VM provisioning, cloning, snapshotting, and template creation in line with business requirements.
- Use VMware Update Manager for ESX host upgrades and patches; monitor and manage ESX host and VM performance.
- Coordinate with storage admin teams on ESX and VM storage issues; manage LUN configuration and scanning.
- Support and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises and maintain DR plans for production servers.

Windows Server Administration

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments; manage OS patching and rollback for Windows servers.
- Troubleshoot Windows 7, 8, 10, and Windows Server 2008 R2 platforms for desktop and server-level issues.
- Deploy and maintain applications on Windows environments; manage software updates and configurations.

Networking & Security

- Manage Local LAN and WAN infrastructure; configure VLANs, Inter-VLAN routing, and switching technologies.
- Deploy and configure Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls (ASA 5512-X, ASA 5520), and related network equipment.
- Configure and troubleshoot site-to-site VPN and AnyConnect VPN solutions.
- Manage Fortigate devices and Cisco devices.
- Oversee Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions including RSA ECAT; manage antivirus deployments (e.g., Kaspersky).
- Perform vulnerability reporting, checking, and remediation in close coordination with L1 security teams.
- Manage network RACK asset inventory – routers, switches, storage servers; perform LAN cable crimping and testing.

Database & Backup Management

- Administer MySQL databases (versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7) – including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance.
- Perform regular MySQL database backups and restoration as per business requirements and SLAs.
- Manage system-level backups, cron job scheduling, system logging, and network logging across all servers.

Monitoring & Reporting

- Monitor server and infrastructure health using tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, and Splunk; respond to alerts and incidents proactively.
- Prepare and submit regular performance reports, incident summaries, and SLA compliance reports to client stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of operational procedures, checklists, and configurations per best practices.




- Track and manage issues using JIRA, ServiceNow (SNOW), HPSM9, and similar ITSM platforms.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Act as the primary technical liaison between Inspiredge and Prajna Semiconductors for all IT Support matters.
- Interface with OEM vendors, hardware resellers, and service providers to ensure support within agreed SLAs.
- Coordinate with the client’s IT procurement team on roadmap planning, hardware lifecycle, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage vendor relationships for network equipment, server hardware, CCTV, and teleconferencing systems.
- Participate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) approvals and manage change deployment across Dev, Test, and Production environments.

Hardware & Data Center Management

- Install and configure HP C3000 & C7000 blade enclosures; manage ILO (ILO2/ILO3/ILO4), OA, ILO firmware updates and resets.
- Configure hardware RAID on HP, Dell, and Supermicro blade servers (1U, 2U, 3U, 4U).
- Manage Dell PowerEdge servers (R410, R420, R710) including iDRAC6 and iDRAC7 remote management.
- Support deployment and maintenance of data center racks, server mounting, cabling, and structured cabling infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Primary Expertise: Linux Administration
- RHEL 6/7/8, CentOS, SUSE Linux 11.2, Ubuntu, Debian – installation, configuration, patching, migration, and cluster management.
- Expertise: VMware & Virtualization
- VMware ESXi 5.5/6.0, vSphere, HA/DRS, snapshots, cloning, templates, VMware Update Manager.
- Working Knowledge: Cloud (AWS)
- EC2, ELB, SNS, CloudWatch, S3, EBS Volumes, AMIs.
- Robust Understanding: Networking
- TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP, VLANs, VTP, site-to-site VPN, AnyConnect VPN, Cisco IOS.
- Experience Required: ITSM & Ticketing
- ServiceNow (SNOW), JIRA, HPSM9 – ticket handling, CAB process, SLA management.
- Functional Knowledge: Database
- MySQL 5.5/5.6/5.7 – installation, backup, and restore.
- Knowledge: Security
- EDR solutions (RSA ECAT), Kaspersky AV, VPN, Firewall (Cisco ASA, Fortigate).
- RHCE / RHCSA, CCNA, CCNP, MCP/MCSA, or equivalent.: Certifications Preferred

Preferred:

- Minimum 12–18 years of overall IT infrastructure experience, with at least 4–5 years in a team lead or technical management capacity.
- Proven hands-on experience across Linux Systems Administration, VMware, AWS Cloud, Windows Server, and enterprise networking.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-vendor IT environments with a track record of SLA adherence.
- Prior experience supporting semiconductor, manufacturing, or R&D; environments is an added advantage
