Role Purpose

Oversee and manage the daily supervision work at a construction site.

Manage construction project, providing technical advice to subcontractors, supervising staff on site and ensuring that project are completed on time, in line with legal guidelines and within budget.

Accountabilities

- Supervision of construction work being executed by Contractor.

- Site Engineer are responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination, supervision and field administration.

- The Site Engineers support the Lead Engineer and Construction Manager in the areas of project controls, safety, quality, materials and administration.

- Visual inspection of materials received at site and advising material controller on his observations.

- Check and authorize materials being issued by to contractor as free issue based on review of test certificates / documents.

- Resolve day to day issues faced on technical matters.

- Ensure all safety practices are followed by contractor in line with approved method statement, JSA and work permit.

- Ensure all necessary documents are properly maintained by contractor during the execution of the work and are handed over after completion of the job.

- Ensure that the latest revision of IFC drawings is used during inspection / monitoring of the progress of work.

- Highlight the field problems, non- conformity, deviations etc. using STQ.

- Prepare punch list and ensure that all points are attended by Contractor.





- Stage wise inspections, witness test at site as per QA Plans

- Quality Engineer to qualify the welders as per job requirement.

- Witness material testing if conducted at site.

- Witness test related to civil work, supervision and surveillance of quality aspect of the civil work.

- Check and certify measurement of job completed and assist Lead / Billing Engineer in bill certification.

- Monitoring of quality activities at site

- Monitoring and approval of all quality control documents being maintained by Contractors.

- Interpretation of radiography reports and review of other NDT test reports

- Ensure calibration of test instruments done at site

- Support during Pre-commissioning and commissioning stage of various systems.

Knowledge / skills required

- Should be technically sound in his own discipline, have an overall understanding of the requirements and sequence of activities and interfaces of all disciplines.

- Should have a Practical/ field experience of supervising construction activities and possesses competency to take appropriate decisions consulting the concerned.

- Shall take ownership in driving the requirements of HSE, quality and schedule.

- Should have sound knowledge of Engineering, latest construction practices that are followed at industrial construction sites,



practical / field experience of supervising construction activities good knowledge of the applicable codes, standards, field testing practices, updated knowledge of acceptable test results and Statutory requirements.

- Basic knowledge of interdisciplinary construction activities related to other disciplines site works.

- CSA Engineer - Familiarity with Piling, UG services, RCC substructure works, RCC & steel superstructure works, pre-cast work & modularization, building works etc.

- Mechanical / Piping Engineer - Sound technical knowledge of Mechanical, Piping, Insulation works. Should be familiar with constructability reviews, heavy lifts, reviewing & approving the heavy lift & erection schemes of the contractors.

- Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer - Sound technical knowledge of E&I; Items, Electrical Distribution, Process Instrumentation Practical/ field experience of supervising installation and commissioning of E&I; items, knowledge of the applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements for electrical installation & Site testing.

Educational Qualification

Graduate Engineering degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation (B.E / B. Tech) from a reputed institute.
