Job Description – Chartered Accountant (CA)

About the Role

Modi Construction Company is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (CA) to manage and oversee the company's financial, accounting, taxation, compliance, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction, infrastructure, mining, or related industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts.
- Review ledgers, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables, and working capital.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.

2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns, Income Tax returns, etc.
- Handle GST reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and authorities when required.
- Keep the organization updated regarding changes in tax laws and regulations.

3. Audit & Compliance

- Coordinate and manage statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and financial data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate controls.

4. MIS & Management Reporting

- Prepare regular MIS reports for management.
- Provide financial analysis, budgeting,



forecasting, and variance reports.
- Monitor project-wise profitability and financial performance.
- Support management in financial decision-making.

5. Construction Industry Accounting

- Monitor project-wise accounting and cost control.
- Review contractor/vendor bills, work orders, advances, and payments.
- Track project expenses against budgets.
- Monitor retention money, mobilization advances, and project-related financial transactions.
- Coordinate with project and commercial teams for financial documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Solid knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, accounting, audit, and financial reporting.
- Experience in construction/infrastructure/project-based companies will be preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
