Associate / Senior Associate – Consulting & Strategy

BananaIP Counsels is looking for a lawyer with a background in law and science or technology to join its Consulting & Strategy team. The role involves advising clients on strategic IP and legal matters, handling contentious issues, and managing agreements and enforcement actions across a range of industries and technology domains.

Key Responsibilities

- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and IP agreements, including licensing, assignment, NDA, technology transfer, and collaboration agreements
- Providing strategic IP opinions and advisory support on freedom-to-operate, portfolio, and risk matters
- Handling adversarial and contentious IP matters, including oppositions, cancellations, and infringement disputes
- Managing internal agreements and legal and compliance matters
- Issuing legal notices and drafting responses
- Taking enforcement actions and coordinating with investigators and law enforcement where required
- Leading dispute resolution, mediation, and settlement negotiations
- Advising on licensing, merchandising, and franchising matters
- Handling entertainment and media law work, including content and talent agreements
- Providing open source license opinions and compliance advice for technology clients
- Supporting due diligence for IP transactions, investments, and M&A;

Requirements





- A law degree with relevant experience in IP consulting, contracts, or dispute resolution
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Sound judgment on strategic and contentious matters
- Ability to work independently across diverse client industries

Preferred Qualifications

- A background in both law and science or technology, given the technical nature of client matters
