Role Summary:

The Assistant Editorial Manager supports the smooth execution of editorial and production workflows for academic books and content for classes 9 to 12, CBSE ICSE, ISC, State Boards, NEET, CUET, NDA. The person should also be well versed with NEP 2020, NCF, Teaching pedagogies, FLN implementation in classes 1 to 8, New NCERTs of Classes 1 to 8 and content development in the K TO 8 GRADE segment.

The role involves coordinating with authors, reviewers, editors, production teams, and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality, and ethically compliant publications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Editorial & Peer Review Management: Supporting end-to-end editorial workflows from manuscript submission to final publication. Coordinate peer review processes, including reviewer reminders, and deadline tracking. Assist in managing editorial academic calendars, product planning, and publication schedules.

2. Manuscript & Content Handling: Conduct initial manuscript checks for scope, formatting, references, and policy compliance. Coordinate Subject Matter Expert level editing, proofreading, typesetting, and author queries. Track revisions and versions, using timeline tracking sheets and other softwares. Keep all data updated including backups and sheets for timely review.

3. Author, Editor & Reviewer Coordination: Act as a point of contact for authors, reviewers, and editorial board members. Communicate editorial decisions, revision requirements, and timelines professionally. Address routine queries related to submissions, revisions, and publication status.

Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure adherence to academic integrity, plagiarism, copyright, and publishing ethics. Support implementation of editorial and company policies, style sheet finalisation, and other SOPs. Assist with quality audits and compliance checks across projects on timely bases and check if all the feedback and reviews are getting properly incorporated. Insuring if the team is working according to the guidelines and checklists and updating the checklists periodically.

5. Project & Workflow Management: Manage multiple manuscripts and projects simultaneously under strict deadlines. Maintain sheets, trackers, editorial reports. Identify inefficiencies in workflows and recommend process improvements.

6. Team & Vendor Support: Assist in training and mentoring junior editorial staff or freelancers. Coordinate with external vendors such as copyeditors and proofreaders with the help pf coordinators. Monitor vendor quality, turnaround times, and performance.

7. Strategic & Administrative Support: Support current project launches, special products introduced by the management, and digital initiatives as and when required. Assist in preparing editorial metrics, performance reports, and documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement of editorial processes.



Must have a research oriented approach to projects to do market research and work strategically to come up with new ideas during the project conceiving stage for better market exposure. Must be able to work along side different teams like Digital, Marketing, e-comm, sales, logistics, production, billing and accounts.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Sciences, or related fields, 3– 8 years of experience in academic or scholarly publishing. Strong understanding of peer review and editorial workflows.

Preferred Experience with Indian Academic authors or publishing houses and editorial boards. Familiarity with Copyright guidelines and publication ethics.

Skills & Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and quality orientation. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent People management skills. Proficiency in manuscript Quality Analysis. Knowledge of style sheets and publishing design norms and ethics. Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Turnaround time for manuscript processing. Quality and accuracy of published content. Compliance with editorial and ethical standards. Author and editor satisfaction. Efficiency improvements in editorial workflows.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
