Role Description The Senior Accountant – NZ Accounting role is a full-time, remote position responsible for managing and reviewing end-to-end accounting and tax compliance for Recent Zealand clients. Day-to-day tasks include preparing financial statements, GST returns, income tax returns, and other statutory filings, as well as maintaining general ledgers and performing reconciliations.



The role involves providing advisory services on tax planning, cash flow management, and business performance, while ensuring adherence to New Zealand accounting standards and tax regulations. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with clients to clarify financial information, respond to queries, and support decision-making, and may mentor junior team members to ensure consistent quality of service.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in New Zealand accounting standards, tax legislation, and compliance requirements, including preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
3-5 Years New Zealand Experience with accounting software and cloud-based systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar), as well as advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and providing practical business advisory insights to small and medium enterprises.
