Position: Purchase Manager – Packaging Material, Stores & Miscellaneous
1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage the procurement of packaging materials, stores items and miscellaneous materials for Purplestar Hygiene Pvt. Limited, ensuring timely availability, competitive pricing, quality compliance and optimum inventory levels.
The role will be responsible for developing reliable suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, controlling procurement costs and ensuring uninterrupted material availability for manufacturing and business operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Packaging Material Procurement
Manage end-to-end procurement of packaging materials such as cartons, corrugated boxes, labels, printed packaging, polybags, films, tapes, pouches and other packaging components.
Plan purchases based on production requirements, inventory levels and consumption trends.
Ensure timely availability of materials without affecting production schedules.




Identify alternate sources and develop new vendors to ensure supply continuity.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead time, MOQ and other commercial conditions.
B. Stores & Miscellaneous Procurement
Manage procurement of engineering stores, consumables, office/administrative items and other miscellaneous requirements.
Coordinate with Stores, Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance and other departments for material requirements.
Ensure proper specification, quality and quantity before placing purchase orders.
Control urgent/emergency purchases and minimize spot buying.
C. Vendor Management
Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers.
Maintain a robust supplier base with focus on quality, cost and delivery performance.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
Negotiate annual rate contracts and long-term commercial agreements wherever applicable.
