Job Summary

The Faculty Member for the Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (BSDMS) Program is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while fostering a supportive, student-centered learning environment. This role contributes to curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement; supports student learning outcomes assessment; and provides academic and professional guidance to students. The faculty member serves as a skilled role model, promotes critical thinking and clinical competence, collaborates with colleagues and clinical partners, participates in recruitment and committee activities, and maintains ongoing professional development while supporting the mission, values, and goals of the College.

Qualifications

Education – Licensures:

Holds a baccalaureate degree with clinical specialization appropriate to their area of teaching responsibility.
Holds a master’s degree in any given field with preference in healthcare,



management or business area or willing to obtain master’s degree upon an agreed period of time.
Faculty teaching non-clinical courses (e.g. issues and trends, research, management, pharmacology, pathophysiology) have advanced preparation appropriate to their area of responsibility.
Holds American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification and registration in pertinent disciplines.
In addition, the College has identified the need for competency in applying principles of learning, in teaching, curriculum development, and in the clinical area of assignment. These competency requirements may be obtained through academic credit, institutes, extension courses, continuing education offerings, and experience.

Experience

Has two years of full-time experience in the professional discipline.
Has one year experience as an instructor in an approved Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program.
