Applications are invited for a DST-funded research project titled “Assessment of Cognitive Alertness and Fatigue in Long Haul Truck Drivers Using Machine Learning Models and Evaluation of Stress Management Intervention” at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)
Location: Chennai
Principal Investigator: Dr. Venkadavarahan
Qualification:
Master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Transportation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Electronics/Instrumentation, or M.Plan in Urban Planning.
Hands-on experience in EEG (brain signals) and behavioural data collection is mandatory.
Responsibilities: Collect and analyse EEG, HRV, EDA, and behavioural data using signal-processing and machine-learning methods while coordinating participant recruitment and fieldwork involving frequent travel. Administer yoga-based stress-management interventions and support project coordination and reporting with VIT, CMC Vellore, and IIM Kozhikode.
Emoluments as per DST norm.:
Rss. 37,000 per month plus 30% HRA (Rs. 48,100)
during the first two years and Rs. 42,000 plus 30% HRA (Rs. 54,600) during the third year. Maximum age: 40 years
Project duration: Three years
Initial appointment: Six months, renewable based on performance
