Qualifications : 12+ years experience
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of mechanical design engineers for automation/SPM projects
Process flow, Cycle time study, Line Balancing, Material selection, Brought out Selection, Technical calculation & RFQ Handling.
Conceptualize and design SPMs, robotic cells, EOATs, and assembly lines
Develop machine layouts, mechanisms, and customized automation solutions
Coordinate with Electrical & PLC teams for system integration
Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments (FMEA)
Ensure designs meet cycle time, productivity, quality, and safety standards
Interact with customers for requirement understanding, design approvals, and technical discussions
Drive DFM, DFA, and cost optimization in design
Oversee BOM preparation, drawing release, and documentation
Support procurement and vendor development for manufacturing components
Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and team performance
Participate in machine build, trials, debugging, and final commissioning
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen)
Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and company processes
Key Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Solid experience in SPM / Automation / Robotics Design
Expertise in mechanism design, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion systems
Hands-on experience in EOAT, conveyors, fixtures, and material handling systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA / AutoCAD
Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFA
Exposure to PLC/controls integration (basic understanding)
Familiarity with FMEA, machine safety standards, and ISO practices
