Role And Purpose

Manage construction projects through planning and coordination with district staff, architects, engineers, and contractors. Responsible for the daily management of construction activities to include budgeting, scheduling, permitting, architectural and engineering activities to support the design and construction process.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree in facilities planning, architecture, engineering, construction management or related field
TASBO certification preferred
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible construction project management experience may be substituted for the required degree
Three (3) years direct experience facilitating and coordinating all design and construction phases of multiple K-12 construction projects
Experience with CAD programs and MS Project is preferred

Demonstrate sound interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Knowledge of various construction procurement methods available to Texas public schools
Ability to apply basic problem-solving skills to resolve design and construction issues
Possess working knowledge of MS Office applications is required
Possess understanding of program and project management methodologies
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications
Basic knowledge of facility systems
Broad-based understanding of the various operations of a school district, including district purchasing and bidding processes
