About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and technically accomplished Principal Software Engineer to help shape the future of Blackbaud’s cloud-based solution delivery platform. In this role, you’ll work across engineering, product, and user experience teams to influence technology direction, elevate engineering standards, and deliver high-impact capabilities that expand what’s possible for the social good community.
What you'll do
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of secure, scalable cloud-native applications and platform capabilities that improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
• Define technical strategy and architectural direction for solution delivery platforms while championing modern engineering practices within a DevSecOps culture.
• Partner with product management, user experience, and engineering teams to translate business objectives into creative technical solutions that create meaningful customer value.
• Drive engineering excellence through high-quality code, thoughtful design reviews, automation, observability,



and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and influence engineers across teams, helping establish best practices, elevate technical capabilities, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
• Collaborate across the organization to solve complex technical challenges, improve operational effectiveness, and support business-critical applications and services.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, cloud services, automation, and platform innovations to accelerate impact.
What you'll bring
• 10+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise software applications using C#, .NET, and modern Microsoft technologies.
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native application architecture and data platform design, including Kubernetes, Azure or AWS, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and distributed systems
