Design & Planning
Design electrical systems for commercial buildings (offices, retail, industrial, mixed-use)
Create electrical schematics, load calculations, and power distribution layouts
Specify electrical equipment, fixtures, and components
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and building standards
Project Management
Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams
Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
Conduct site inspections during construction phases
Manage project timelines and electrical system deliverables
Building Systems Integration
Design power distribution systems (transformers, switchgear, panels)
Plan lighting systems and controls for energy efficiency
Integrate fire alarm, security, and communication systems
Design backup power systems (generators, UPS)
Technology Infrastructure
Plan structured cabling and telecommunications systems
Design smart building automation integration
Specify electrical requirements for HVAC and other building systems
Plan EV charging infrastructure for parking areas
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) and local codes
