Senior Lead Backend Engineer / SDE III

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Lead Backend Engineer to own the backend architecture and development of a payments-focused Dispute Management Platform designed to manage disputes, chargebacks, prevention alerts, evidence, merchant risk, analytics, compliance monitoring, automation, and reporting. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. The ideal candidate can design the architecture, build production-quality Python services, establish the PostgreSQL data model, define API standards, implement Azure infrastructure patterns, and guide other engineers as the product moves from prototype to production. The engineer will work closely with Product, Payments, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Data, AI, and frontend engineering teams.

Backend Architecture & Technical Leadership

Own the overall backend architecture for the Dispute Management Platform.
Translate product requirements and the existing data-field dictionary into a scalable production data model.
Establish architectural standards for Python services, APIs, database access, asynchronous jobs, integrations, security, logging, testing, and deployment.
