Chief Business Officer - Renewable Energy IPP
Location: Bangalore, India (open to candidates based anywhere in India)
Travel Requirement: High travel role across domestic and international markets (Africa, US, Europe, etc.)

Role Overview
We are building a high-growth renewable energy IPP platform across India and international markets, focused on solar, wind, storage, and integrated energy solutions. We are looking for a Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead global business development, revenue generation, and market expansion at a founding leadership level. This is a high-ownership, execution-driven role requiring end-to-end deal leadership from offtaker identification and C&I; client acquisition to land alignment, PPA execution, and project closure

What You Will Own (Key Outcomes)
Annual MW targets closed (signed PPAs)
Revenue and contract value secured
Maintaining 3–5x pipeline coverage vs targets
Entry into current geographies and markets
Building and scaling a high-performing BD & marketing team

Key Responsibilties
1. End-to-End Deal Ownership
Lead full project lifecycle:




Identify and onboard offtakers (C&I; and utilities)
Originate and close C&I; clients across sectors
Align and support land acquisition and site identification
Drive PPA structuring, negotiation, and execution
Ensure seamless conversion from pipeline → signed deals → execution-ready projects
2. Global Business Development & Market Expansion
Drive deal origination across:
India, Africa (key focus), US, Europe, and other international markets
Build a diversified multi-country pipeline
Identify and execute market entry strategies in new geographies
3. Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy
Develop and implement region-specific GTM strategies
Adapt to regulatory, pricing, and customer dynamics across markets
Identify opportunities across emerging and mature markets
4. Leadership & Team Building
Build, lead, and scale teams across: Business Development , Marketing, Strategic Partnerships
Define KPIs, drive accounta
