About the Role

We are looking for a high-ownership, senior-level Azure DevOps & Migration Technical Consultant to drive a massive, global enterprise migration program (400,000+ repositories, 40,000+ users across global business units).

You will work autonomously within dedicated migration podstroubleshooting complex pipeline failures, engineering Git cleanup workflows for multi-gigabyte repositories, building secret-less OIDC integrations, and delivering customized self-hosted GitHub Actions runner PoCs directly for internal business units.

Key Responsibilities & Task Examples

- Legacy VCS & Pipeline Migration: Execute end-to-end extractions and migrations across diverse source control platforms (GitLab, Bitbucket, Perforce, Subversion, ClearCase, Mercurial, GitHub Enterprise Server) and CI/CD tools (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, TeamCity, Bamboo).
- Git System Limit Remediation: Diagnose and remediate large repository bloat blocking migration. Clean repo history, offload binary assets to Git LFS, and execute history sanitization using git-filter-repo or BFG.
- Secret-less Pipeline Security: Configure and update GitHub Actions workflows and Azure Pipelines to authenticate with on-premises/cloud JFrog Artifactory via OpenID Connect (OIDC) and Workload Identity.
- Runner Environment Engineering: Design, customize, and deliver Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs) for self-hosted GitHub Actions runners tailored to specialized software and toolchain requirements of specific business units.




- Complex Troubleshooting & Playbooks: Autonomously debug and resolve low-level migration tool errors, update enterprise migration playbooks, and document operational standards.
- Autonomous Stakeholder Management: Interface directly with business unit leads, communicate technical trade-offs assertively, and drive resolution under ambiguous or incomplete requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Experience: 6+ years of total IT experience with at least 4+ years dedicated to Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD automation.
- VCS Expertise: Hands-on experience migrating legacy Version Control Systems (SVN, Perforce, Bitbucket, or GitLab) to GitHub Enterprise / Azure Repos with history preservation.
- Git Internals & Cleanup: Proven track record handling Git system limits, multi-GB repos, Git LFS, and repo-cleaning tools (git-filter-repo).
- Identity & Security: Direct experience implementing OIDC-based keyless authentication between pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) and artifact repositories (JFrog Artifactory).
- Runners & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and scaling self-hosted GitHub Actions runners or Azure DevOps build agents.
- IaC & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Soft Skills: High ownership, ability to speak with technical authority from lived experience, and comfortable working independently in rapid-paced environments.
