Job Description

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control panels and related electrical systems. The role involves preparing electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Panel Design

- Design LT control panels, PCC, MCC, IMCC, APFC, and other electrical control panels.
- Prepare electrical schematics, power and control circuit diagrams.
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) and panel layout drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with approved technical specifications and applicable standards.
- Select appropriate electrical components based on load, rating, application, and customer requirements.

2. Drawing Preparation

- Prepare and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
- Develop:

- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- GA Drawings
- Panel Layout Drawings
- Power Wiring Diagrams
- Control Wiring Diagrams
- Terminal Plans
- Cable Schedules
- Interconnection Drawings
- Component Layouts

- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revisions, and documentation.

3. Bill of Materials (BOM)

- Prepare accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials) based on approved drawings.
- Calculate material and component quantities.




- Verify component specifications, ratings, and quantities.
- Coordinate with the Purchase, Estimation, Procurement, and Production teams for material requirements.

4. Electrical Component Selection

The candidate should have good knowledge of electrical components such as:

- ACB, MCCB & MCB
- Contactors
- Overload Relays
- Protection Relays
- CT / PT
- Control Transformers
- SMPS
- Auxiliary Relays
- Timers
- Terminal Blocks
- Push Buttons
- Selector Switches

5. Wiring & Cable Design

- Prepare power and control wiring diagrams.
- Develop cable schedules and terminal plans.
- Perform basic cable sizing and selection.
- Ensure proper control circuit logic and wiring connections.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve drawing and wiring-related issues.

6. Customer Coordination & Drawing Revisions

- Review customer specifications and technical requirements.
- Incorporate customer comments and prepare drawing revisions.
- Maintain proper revision history.
- Coordinate with customers regarding technical clarifications.
- Submit drawings for approval within the required project timeline.
- Ensure minimum drawing revisions through proper checking and review.

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

- Practical knowledge of LT panels, switchgear, control circuits, electrical drawings, and panel manufacturing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to complete drawings within project deadlines.
