Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Windchill+ Data Migration Expert to lead the end-to-end migration of engineering and PLM data into a PTC Windchill+ SaaS workplace.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in PLM data migration, Windchill loaders, bulk migration tooling, data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation. The successful candidate will be responsible for migration strategy as well as hands-on execution, including load files, mapping templates, scripts, error resolution, and data quality.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with CAD data, Creo, WTParts, EBOMs, documents, metadata, classification, change management data, and CAD-WTPart associations.

Key Responsibilities 1. Data Migration Strategy Planning

- Define and lead the end-to-end data migration strategy for Windchill+ implementations.
- Perform as-is to to-be process and data mapping across PLM/PDM systems.
- Define migration scope, sequencing, dependencies, and cutover strategy.
- Identify data gaps, data-quality issues, cleansing requirements, and transformation rules.
- Establish migration standards, validation criteria, reconciliation methods, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate migration activities with business, engineering, IT, and SaaS platform teams.

2. Windchill+ Bulk Data Migration
- Execute large-scale migrations using Windchill+ Bulk Data Migration Tool, Windchill loaders, and APIs.
- Develop and maintain migration load files, scripts, mapping templates, and transformation utilities.
- Perform pre-load data validation and post-load verification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve migration errors, failed objects, relationship issues, and data inconsistencies.
- Optimize migration execution for performance and reliability.
- Work within Windchill+ SaaS tenant constraints, release cycles, and platform update schedules.

3. Legacy Data Analysis Transformation
- Analyze legacy PLM, PDM, CAD, and ERP schemas for migration feasibility.
- Create detailed source-to-target mapping documents.
- Define transformation rules for attributes, soft types, classifications, naming conventions, and versioning.
- Standardize engineering data and identify duplicate, obsolete, incomplete, or invalid records.




- Define and execute data-cleansing activities before migration.
- Ensure migrated data complies with Windchill+ data governance standards.

4. CAD, WTPart EBOM Migration
- Lead migration of Creo CAD data, documents, WTParts, EBOMs, and related metadata.
- Ensure correct CAD-WTPart associations and product structures.
- Handle versions, iterations, lifecycle states, folders, ownership, and relationships.
- Validate EBOM structures and engineering relationships after migration.
- Ensure CAD and product structures maintain data integrity throughout migration.

5. Testing Validation
- Plan and execute multiple migration cycles, including mock migrations and dress rehearsals.
- Define data validation rules and UAT test cases.
- Develop reconciliation scripts and validation reports.
- Perform source-versus-target record counts and attribute-level comparisons.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for migration failures.
- Track defects and implement corrective actions.
- Provide migration sign-off reports and data-quality metrics.

Mandatory Skills
- Engineering degree with 10+ years of PLM/data migration experience.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Windchill / Windchill+ experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windchill+ Bulk Data Migration Tool or Windchill migration loaders.
- Experience with WBM, standard Windchill loaders, and/or InfoEngine-based utilities.
- Proven experience migrating CAD, documents, WTParts, EBOMs, and metadata at scale.
- Strong knowledge of attribute mapping, soft types, classifications, and transformation logic.
- Strong hands-on experience with Creo CAD data.
- Good understanding of WTParts, EBOM management, and CAD-WTPart associations.
- Strong SQL / Oracle skills for data extraction, analysis, and validation.
- Working knowledge of the Windchill data model.
- Understanding of Windchill lifecycles, workflows, access control,



and security rules.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience owning migration deliverables from planning through production cutover.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with additional CAD platforms such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Scripting experience using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Experience migrating data from legacy PDM/PLM platforms, CAD vaults, and ERP systems.
- Experience with automated data validation and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of enterprise PLM data governance and master-data management.
- Exposure to regulated manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or other engineering-intensive industries.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale migration programs involving large data volumes.

Education

Bachelor s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent technical qualification.

The candidate should be capable of independently creating migration mappings and load files, executing bulk loads, developing validation scripts, troubleshooting failures, reconciling migrated data, and supporting cutover activities in a Windchill+ SaaS environment.
