Salesforce Lightning:
A customer contacts a company Service Agent creates a Case checks customer/account details resolves the issue.

FSL:
Customer needs an engineer at their location Work Order is created Service Appointment is scheduled suitable technician is assigned based on skills/location/availability technician visits customer updates the job through the mobile app work order is closed.

From a recruitment perspective

If you're screening candidates, don't treat them as identical:

- Salesforce Lightning Developer Look for LWC, Apex, SOQL, Flows, Salesforce APIs, Sales/Service Cloud.
- Salesforce FSL Developer/Consultant Look for the above plus FSL-specific experience such as Work Orders, Service Appointments, Service Resources, Service Territories, Scheduling/Optimization, Dispatcher Console, FSL Mobile and Field Service configuration.

If your requirement is specifically FSL, I would screen for hands-on Field Service implementation/configuration rather than accepting general Salesforce Lightning experience.
