Job Description

The Purchase Executive will be responsible for managing procurement activities, developing and coordinating with vendors, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring the timely availability of materials required for electrical panel manufacturing and related projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain strong skilled relationships with existing vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Regularly follow up with vendors regarding quotations, orders, dispatches, and deliveries.
- Maintain and update vendor records and supplier information.

2. Technical Purchase

- Understand technical specifications and material requirements for electrical panels.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding technical requirements and specifications.
- Review BOMs (Bill of Materials) and material requirements.
- Procure electrical components and materials as per approved specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, stores, and project teams for procurement activities.

3. Costing & Negotiation

- Obtain quotations from approved and potential suppliers.




- Compare quotations based on price, quality, specifications, delivery time, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with vendors.
- Ensure procurement is carried out at competitive prices without compromising quality.
- Prepare comparative statements for vendor and quotation evaluation.

4. Purchase Order & Material Follow-up

- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved requirements.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with stores and production teams for material receipt and availability.
- Resolve issues related to delayed, damaged, incorrect, or rejected materials.

Technical Knowledge – Electrical Components

Astek Electricals specifically requires knowledge of switchgear and LT panels. Candidates should have a basic understanding of the following:
