Job Title - Digital IT Business Partner – Essential Functions (Commercial & Legal)

Job Location - Bangalore / Bengaluru

Core Purpose of the Role:

Represent the Digital & IT (DIT) function as a strategic business partner for Commercial and Legal functions.

Partner with Commercial and Legal leaders to identify, shape, prioritize and deliver digital, data and AI-enabled initiatives from idea intake through solution delivery, adoption and value realization.

Translate functional objectives into technology roadmaps, business cases, requirements, governance artifacts and measurable outcomes aligned to enterprise priorities.

Act as the connecting layer between business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, delivery teams, vendors and governance forums to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, compliant, scalable and value-led.

Role Accountabilities:

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary DIT partner for Commercial and Legal teams, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and process owners.

Facilitate discovery workshops, problem framing, requirement elicitation, prioritization and alignment across Commercial and Legal stakeholders.

Represent business needs in DIT planning forums and represent DIT strategy, constraints, delivery progress and governance expectations back to business teams.

Support change management, adoption planning, communication, training coordination and benefits tracking for implemented solutions.

IT SDLC, Portfolio Governance & Value Realization

Drive initiatives across the complete IT SDLC lifecycle: idea identification, demand intake, business case, prioritization, solution design, delivery, testing, deployment, hypercare, adoption and value realization.

Create and maintain governance artifacts such as problem statements, business cases, benefit/value hypotheses, functional requirement documents, RAID logs, milestone plans, and adoption of dashboards.





Track realization of committed benefits including productivity improvement, cycle-time reduction, compliance strengthening, cost avoidance, revenue enablement, and user adoption metrics.

Partner with PMO, delivery teams and vendors to monitor scope, schedule, cost, risks, dependencies and escalations through the project lifecycle.

Functional Technology Enablement

Support Commercial digital enablement across customer engagement, opportunity management, account planning, campaigns, CRM adoption, sales operations and commercial analytics.

Support Legal technology initiatives such as contract lifecycle management, clause libraries, approval workflows, obligation tracking, e-signature, legal operations and legal analytics.

Drive integration alignment across Commercial and Legal platforms with enterprise systems, reporting layers, document repositories and workflow channels.

Help define functional roadmaps for CRM, CLM, workflow automation, analytics, AI-enabled knowledge support and responsible use of digital platforms.

AI, Automation & Digital Innovation

Identify practical AI, GenAI, automation and analytics opportunities across Commercial and Legal functions and translate them into scoped use cases with clear business outcomes.

Demonstrate working familiarity with AI tools and concepts including Copilot-style productivity assistants, enterprise search, document intelligence, workflow automation, prompt-driven analysis and AI governance considerations.

Collaborate with data, architecture, security and compliance teams to ensure responsible, secure and compliant use of AI-enabled solutions.

Promote experimentation, adoption and value tracking for AI-enabled productivity and decision-support use cases.

Vendor, Solution & Platform Governance

Evaluate solution options and vendor proposals for functional fit, integration approach, security, data residency, scalability, support model, commercial viability and value delivery.

Coordinate with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, integration, data and infrastructure teams to ensure technology solutions align with enterprise standards.

Support UAT planning, test scenario validation, defect triage, release readiness and post-go-live stabilization.

Maintain awareness of industry benchmark tools and relevant technology trends across CRM, CLM, ERP integration, analytics, workflow and AI-enabled enterprise solutions.

Strong understanding of Commercial and Legal operating models, business processes, KPIs, controls and governance needs.

Ability to translate Commercial and Legal priorities into technology requirements, solution roadmaps and measurable business outcomes.

Experience working with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams and external implementation partners in complex enterprise environments.

Understanding of life sciences,



CRDMO, pharma or regulated business environments will be an added advantage.

Technology & Tool Exposure

Working knowledge of CRM platforms such as Salesforce / SFDC and related customer engagement, opportunity, account management, sales operations and commercial analytics processes.

Working knowledge of legal contract management systems such as Icertis, Conga, DocuSign CLM or equivalent CLM platforms.

Working knowledge of SAP ecosystem such as SAP ERP / S/4HANA, master data, reporting and integration touchpoints relevant to Commercial and Legal workflows.

Exposure to ServiceNow SPM / ITSM, workflow platforms, Power BI / Tableau, Microsoft 365 / Copilot, enterprise search, document management, integration concepts and API-driven systems.

Familiarity with industry benchmark tools across CRM, CLM, ERP integration, e-signature, workflow automation, analytics and AI-enabled productivity tools

AI, Data & Digital Skills

Good working understanding of AI / GenAI use cases relevant to Commercial and Legal functions, including enterprise search, document intelligence, summarization, knowledge assistants and automation copilots.

Ability to assess AI use cases for feasibility, business value, data readiness, security, compliance and adoption considerations.

Working knowledge of data governance, reporting dashboards, metrics definition, value tracking and decision-support analytics.

Awareness of responsible AI, privacy, information security, data residency and regulated-data handling expectations.

Soft Skills

Strong business consulting, stakeholder engagement, facilitation and structured problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, executive storytelling and ability to simplify technology concepts for business audiences.

Ability to influence without authority and manage ambiguity across multiple stakeholder groups and priorities.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience in IT business partnering digital transformation, enterprise applications, consulting, business analysis, product ownership or technology program delivery.

Demonstrated experience representing IT / Digital functions to Commercial and/or Legal stakeholders and driving initiatives across these domains.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience with SDLC, Agile / hybrid delivery, portfolio governance, vendor coordination, UAT, change management and benefits realization.

Experience in life sciences, pharma, biotech, CRDMO or regulated industry environments will be preferred.
