Test Automation Engineer

Position: Test Automation Engineer

Experience: 5-8 Years

Location: Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore, Ahmedabad (Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 4 Months ONLY

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in API automation, Python, Azure, and cloud/infrastructure validation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing automation frameworks, testing APIs/backend services, and executing automated test suites through CI/CD and cloud/remote environments.

Mandatory Skills

- 58 years of experience in Software Testing/QA Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Strong experience in API automation and backend/service testing.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in infrastructure validation using Azure or another cloud platform.
- Experience with automation framework development and design patterns such as: Page Object Model, Builder Pattern, Singleton Pattern, Factory Pattern
- Experience with CI/CD and remote/cloud-based test execution.
- Good understanding of API authentication mechanisms such as: OAuth/OAuth2, JWT, Basic Authentication, Bearer Token

API Testing Expertise

The candidate should have practical experience with:

- Functional and business validation through APIs without relying on UI.
- Validating API response data, schemas/contracts, and business logic.
- Troubleshooting cases where an API returns HTTP 200 but incorrect data.




- Performing RCA using logs, traces, and upstream/downstream service analysis.
- Serialization/deserialization of complex API responses.
- POJO/GSON or equivalent approaches for response validation.
- API chaining and handling dynamic runtime-generated values.
- Mocking, stubbing, and service virtualization.
- Tools/frameworks such as Mockito, WireMock, or equivalent.

CI/CD & Cloud Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience executing automation in remote/cloud environments, rather than only running tests locally.

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

- Jenkins
- Docker
- Azure DevOps
- AWS/EC2
- BrowserStack
- Sauce Labs
- Other equivalent CI/CD or cloud-based execution platforms

Good to Have

- Experience with Azure Monitor.
- Experience with Disaster Recovery Testing.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure and monitoring.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed applications/services.

Candidate Screening Expectations

Candidates should be able to clearly explain their hands-on experience with:

1. Automation framework design and architecture.

2. API/backend testing without using the UI.

3. API response validation and troubleshooting.

4. API chaining and agile test data.

5. API authentication.

6. Mocking/stubbing/service virtualization.

7. CI/CD integration and remote/cloud test execution.

8. Azure and infrastructure validation.
