Role & responsibilities

Lead Programme Development and Compliance

Job Description Reports to: Senior Leadership / Board Member

Location: Bandra, Mumbai, Maharashtra (Full-time, in-office)

Salary: 14 to 20 lakhs per annum (commensurate with experience)

Role Summary: - The role holds primary responsibility for the design and quality of the Foundation's programmes and for ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance. It additionally carries defined responsibility for fundraising across corporate (CSR) and individual channels, and supports other organisational initiatives. The role suits a qualified able to manage programme development, compliance, and resource mobilisation concurrently, to a standard that withstands audit and funder due diligence.

Key responsibilities

Programme development

- Design new programmes and strengthen existing ones across education, skilling, and livelihood, from concept to a working delivery model for urban as well as rural India
- Lead the learning and development function, including curriculum, session plans, and facilitator training, and maintain quality as programmes scale.
- Embed monitoring and evaluation into every programme, with clear baselines, objectives, and outcome measures.

Statutory and regulatory compliance

- Own the Foundation's full compliance calendar and keep all registrations current and audit-ready. (Examples: 12A/12AB, 80G, CSR-1, NGO Darpan, GST, and FCRA if and when foreign funds are received.)
- Support timely statutory filings, including ITR-7 with Form 10B/10BB, Form 10BD/10BE for donations, the annual report and AGM, utilisation certificates, and FCRA returns where applicable

• Maintain POSH compliance and a functioning Internal Committee, child-protection and safeguarding documentation, clean books, and board-approved policies, along with any further obligation the law imposes.

Fundraising (CSR and individual)

- Own the funding pipeline across CSR, foundations, and individual giving, from prospecting through proposal to close. • Prepare proposals, concept notes, and budgets that are specific, defensible, and free of double-counted overhead, with a calculable cost per beneficiary.
- Support donor relationships and deliver accurate, on-time utilisation and impact reports.

Partnerships and support

- Develop and manage partnerships with non-profits, training institutes, and government agencies, including MoUs and reporting obligations.
- Support board reporting, documentation, and other organisational initiatives as priorities require.

Who we are looking for

- 7 to 10 years across programme development and non-profit compliance, preferably in education or skilling, with demonstrated fundraising exposure.
- Working knowledge of Indian non-profit compliance (12A/12AB, 80G, CSR-1, FCRA, GST, labour, and POSH).
- A record of designing programmes or curricula and preparing proposals that have secured funding.
- Strong writing, and the ability to manage multiple statutory and operational deadlines at once. • Based in Mumbai or Maharashtra.

Preferred

- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Development Studies, Social Work, Public Administration, Education, or similar).
- Familiarity with M&E; frameworks, government grants, and an existing network of CSR and philanthropic funders.
- English and Hindi essential; Marathi strongly preferred.
